Voices of the Future: Young Women Shaping the AUKUS Discourse

In anticipation of the release of the  (WISP) program’s first policy paper and ahead of International Women’s Day, WISP and Women in International Security – Australia Inc. (WIIS-A) are delighted to invite you to an online panel event delving into the importance of diverse voices in shaping the future trajectory of the AUKUS partnership.

This panel discussion will bring together a range of experts to share insights about AUKUS Pillar I and II including the role of young women and women from intersectional backgrounds in informing the discourse surrounding AUKUS. Audience members will have the opportunity to ask the panellists questions, and we welcome in-person attendees to stay for informal networking and light catering after the end of the panel discussion.

The reason why we are holding this event is clear: the perspectives of women continue to be marginalised in the national security sector. Although elevating gender equity is being increasingly prioritised, more needs to be done to ensure that the women are equally afforded the opportunity to have their voices heard on the critical issues shaping Australia’s national security especially AUKUS.
